Over the last ten years, Keith Lapeze has built a successful and active commercial, environmental, and tort litigation practice in state and federal courts. He has even represented clients on appeals and argued cases before the United States Fifth Circuit.
Acting as Lead Counsel in several cases where potential damages have exceeded hundreds of millions of dollars, Mr. Lapeze’s broad litigation experience includes intricate suits involving fraud, breach of contract, personal injury, property damage, and state and federal environmental statutes. This body of work has not only garnered him the recognition of his peers, but it has also been featured in regional and national publications including Chambers & Partners and superlawyers.com.
In 1999, Keith completed a judicial clerkship with Judge James L. Dennis on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. After moving to Houston, he became a partner at Vinson and Elkins, PLLC, the largest law firm in the city and one of the most-respected throughout the entire country.
Mr. Lapeze is admitted to practice in both Texas and Louisiana, as well as the United States Supreme Court; Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; the Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas; and the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana.
Before graduating third in his class from Louisiana State University Law Center, he served as the Executive Senior Editor of the Louisiana Law Review.
