On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 10th, a traumatic car crash in Northeast Houston tragically took the lives of a 3-year-old boy and a 25-year-old woman.
According to local officials, the accident occurred at around noon and took place at the intersection of Lee Road and the Beltway.
The accident occurred after the driver of a Buick Park Avenue, carrying the boy and the woman, ran a red light heading north of Lee Road.
An 18-wheeler traveling westbound on N. Sam Houston Parkway East service road ultimately struck the Buick.
As a result, the Buick also tan into 2 other vehicles that were parked in a gas station near the intersection. Everyone that was inside the Buick were all rushed to the nearest hospital.
The driver did not suffer any significant injuries; however, the 3-year-old boy and 25-year-old woman were pronounced dead later at the hospital.
Authorities are still currently investigating the specific details that led up to the accident, and no charges have been filed thus far.
